This is a fairly large block, that was fenced around the perimeter for many years. It separates an important transport hub (Chkalovskaya metro station, Yuzhny bus station, trolleybus, tram, bus stops) from an array of new residential buildings all 25 floors and more. A huge number of people from this district had to daily pass along the reinforced fence of concrete. The site has long been a thrombus in the urban environment. The streets and residential development in this part of the city evoke a feeling of constant congestion and overcrowding. Roads are overloaded with traffic, building density is very high. This is a transit area both for people and transport. People change here from a suburban bus line to the metro or leave the metro and change to a tram or leave the car at the Megapolis shopping mall and go to the metro. The park that we designed on this territory is a relatively small, but free space. The bigger part of the site is not occupied by any buildings - only lawns, paths and playgrounds. Our concept was to make the park not in an orthogonal grid, but in a diagonal one, so that pedestrians could get through it taking the shortest way to the bus stops. The building is represented by eleven one-story wooden pavilions for various purposes. The architecture of the pavilions is very simple and concise.
